Raiders in the Longboats

The Bleached Crew rows in at night, $C. Longboats full of the Chalk Widow's drowned, white as a sail and crusted with coral, pulling for the north beaches with no lantern and no word. They come ashore to press the living: any hand they catch alone they drag back into the surf, and in a week that hand is pulling an oar for them. Go up the causeway to the north beaches and put ten of the longboatmen back in the sea.
