Snapper for the Pot

A reef snapper is all shell and spite, $N, but under the shell is a haunch of the sweetest meat on the Keys, and my stewpot has been scraped dry since the crews came in for the Moot. Bring me eight good haunches from the snappers on the beaches. Not off the old ones with barnacles on their backs. Those are tougher than the shell.
