The Defector

He has a new name now, $N. Primus Quill, the First Claimant. Far to the north, in the Colophon, he means to cut his name into the Final Imprint above every other name in the world. The torn page of the Ledger was his price for the Ashen Registry: the true name of every knife of the Hand, sold to be burned, so that his own could be written first. Registrar Sable Voss defected from that Registry, and she has been feeding me its secrets for a year. Find her at Recorders Rest.
