You do not need to know the whole world to take the first step. Here is the path from downloading a client to choosing your calling.

Open the installed client and follow its sign-in instructions. Create a character, follow the introductory quests, and learn your abilities before venturing farther.

Welcome back, adventurer.
Use your existing account rather than creating another. If you cannot sign in, start with password recovery. The database is an imported snapshot, not a record of your character's current progress.
A little help for the road
The client will not start. What should I check?
Confirm you selected the right platform and finished the download. Use the official client link, read any installer or launcher error, and do not disable your device's security protections to force it to run.
Where are my characters?
Characters and progress live in the game. Sign in with the same game account and check the realm you selected. The website database is reference material, not your inventory.
I forgot my password.
Use the password recovery page. It sends a reset link to the recovery address on your account; an account without a recovery address cannot reset itself through that flow.
