Grapples and Swivels

The longboats were the scouts. Now the Chalk Widow sends boarders: grapplers who throw iron over anything that floats and climb whatever they catch, and gunners hauling swivels up the sand to cover them. On the east strand and the downs above the north-east shore they are digging in as if they mean to stay. Kill eight Bleached Grapplers and six Bleached Swivel-Gunners before they turn a beach into a battery.
