The Glutton
cq_druid_1_3The Glutton
Quest · Level 10
The other sick place is a troll the others will not dig beside: Grubjaw, the Glutton. He prowls the far eastern mounds and eats everything that moves and most of what does not, mules and harness included. A troll belongs in the song as much as a heron does, $N, but Grubjaw takes and takes and gives nothing back to the fen. Put him down. Then take word of it to Fenwyn at the Hall of Orders. She will know what you heard.

Completion
Maren writes that the eastern mounds have frogs on them again. Then you heard it, $N: the song is not good against evil, it is enough against too much. The dead that were not allowed to rot and the glutton who would not stop eating are both notes held past their time. Take this cudgel. It is mirebough, oak that lay a hundred years in the Mirefen mud and came out harder for it. Remember the marsh when you carry it.
