The last of the page went into the Breach. The Ashfall Colossus climbed out carrying it, summer fire in one hand and winter in the other, and every time it walks, the Reach learns a season it should not have. This is your Proving, $N. Gather two companions, break the Colossus, and carry what is left of the page to Corwin at the Hall of Orders. He will want to teach you what it was written to do.

Ash, and a little frost, still on the paper. So it held both. The first magisters wrote fire and cold on the same page because they believed they were one working seen from two sides, and they were right. This is what that page was meant to teach, $N: Hoarfire Nova. Loose it when something stands too close, and it will burn them and throw them back chilled. Tamsin learned it at twelve. I hope that wherever she is, she remembers it.
