What the Orchard Keeps
cq_priest_4_1What the Orchard Keeps
Quest · Level 40
There is a rite every priest of the Lantern walks once, $N: the Rite of the Two Hands. One hand holds the light out to a friend; the other reaches into the dark and takes something back. Most priests learn only the first. In the Pallid Orchard the trees eat what people remember, and whole families forget each other over a single harvest. Nema Root, a graftwright there, keeps what memories she can save. Go to her. Faith is mostly memory, and a priest should see what is left of a people who have lost theirs.

Completion
Ilsabet sent a priest? Then she still remembers me, which is more than most of Rootmemory can say. The orchard does not kill anyone, $N. It only takes. The Memory Poachers pick the sweet recollections and leave the painful ones behind, and the Graftmaw Treants carry everything they gather down to the oldest roots.
