A Dead Woman's Face

Quest · Level 20

A knife of ours was seen at work in Lastlight last month, $N, in Duskhollow Basin. She was a good knife. She has also been dead for six years; I closed her eyes myself. Somebody is wearing her face, and the only place they could have found it is in the Ledger. Watch-Captain Joane Vesper keeps what passes for order in Lastlight, and she owes me a favour she would much rather forget. Go and collect it.

Completion

Silk Marrowen. Of course it is. My watch changes faces every dawn, $N, so I notice when somebody else's face does too. The cutpurses at the Namesmith House wear borrowed faces, and lately a good many of those faces have belonged to the Quiet Hand. Silk calls in her favour; I will call it paid when this is done.
