Three knives of the Hand have died this season, $N, and not one of them made a sound. Nobody kills a knife of mine silently; we are the ones who do that. The marks on the bodies are the Quiet Plague, bottled, and the empty vials keep washing up at Keelhaven in the Bared Deep, where the Empty-Tide Callers walk a tide with no water in it. Quill is selling them the plague by the cask. Shipmaster Venn runs the Keelhaven crews and hears everything that comes ashore. Ask him how his salvagers have been dying.
