Malrec spent other people's promises and thought the debt would never find him. Debts always find you, $N. That is what makes them debts. So learn the other side of the ledger. This is the Hex of Forfeiture: mark a foe with a debt it cannot pay, and while the mark holds, everything you do to it lands harder. Collect carefully. The Pact remembers who collected, too.
