The Rite of Waking

At the edge of the Hush the silence has grown itself a mouth, $N, and the Mouth of the Quiet unsays whatever it touches: names, songs, an old woman who walked in thirty winters ago. Close it. You will need others; it unsays the first one who stands alone before it. When it falls, put your hand to the ground and listen. Then take what you hear home to Fenwyn.
