The King holds court only while his banners fly over the Thrones, $N. The Banner-Bound Wraiths carry them, and every time one is raised, the crowned herd stands to attention. Bring 8 of the wraiths down and leave the King on his throne: the herd needs to be free, not the King dead. Then go and tell Rennick the herd is running again.

Running again, and the King still sitting his throne. Then the First Antler's northern herd is free, and you freed it without drawing on a single elk, or on a king who did not need it. That is the hardest thing a hunter learns, $N: when not to loose. Take this quiver. I made it from the hide of a beast that gave itself to me on my own Long Trail, and I have never filled it with anything but clean arrows. Keep it that way.
