Sail home now, $N, all the way back across the water to the mainland docks, and find the old fisherman who started you on this whole trail: Brandt. Tell him plainly what you found out here at the edge of everything: that the last page of the Hundred Leaves is blank, and that it is blank on purpose. He kept the first half of this story warm for you before you ever left his dock. It is only fair he hears how the far half of it turned out.

I have mended nets for forty years on the theory that some things get finished by leaving them alone, $N, and I never once thought a whole Book would prove me right.
