Something has taken up guard near the Recensor's Cairn, $N, a dust wraith grown large and stubborn enough that we've started calling it the Recensor, like it thinks it gets a say in what stays and what gets buried. Eight ordinary wraiths keep it company. Clear the ring, then put the Recensor down, and this ridge stops arguing with itself long enough for honest feet to cross it.

Whatever it thought it was revising, it is finished revising now, and the cairn is quiet for the first time since I came to this ridge. Here, take these. We cut them from the same stone the Recensor was guarding, and I would rather see them on the one who settled our spine than have them sit in my stores arguing with each other.
