The Ragged Leaf

This whole ring is a leaf, $N, cut from the Book before it was ever Bound. Look at the rim: that ragged, feathered edge is a deckle edge, the same untrimmed border every sheet I press is born with. Something tore this page free long before I had vats to press anything, and the Ink Tide carried it east until it grounded and grew a lagoon inside the tear. I did not work that out myself. A stranger came through years back, wrote in a hand smaller than a fly's footprint, and left a note carved into a shell out on the Selvage before sailing on. Called themselves the Glossator. I have pressed a thousand sheets since and never made sense of what they scratched there. Go and read it for me.
