The Ink That Would Not Set
es_foxing_isle_sagaThe Ink That Would Not Set
Quest · Level 19
Foxing is what happens to a page the Binders never quite finished with, $N. Damp got into a chapter before the ink had properly set, and rather than let it run and ruin the whole gathering, they cut the leaf and let the sea have it. This isle is that leaf: every sinkhole is a place where the wet ink pooled and never dried, and the woods around it have been rust-spotted ever since, the way old paper foxes at the edges. A wanderer came through to look at the sinks some seasons back, small tidy hand, called themselves the Glossator, and left their own blot at the edge of the Inkwell Sink, dark enough it could almost be mistaken for the water. I have studied it as long as I have studied the isle's own foxing and I still cannot read the second half. Go and look at it for me.

Completion
So the Glossator's hand blots the same as any other, given long enough. It tells my own foxing nothing new, $N, but I know now they stood right at that sink's edge, and that they went on from here toward Ligature Isle, further northwest along this reach of near folios. Take the ferry there and keep reading what they left. I will keep reading the spots on this one.
