The Glossator's Loose Leaf
es_scriptorium_rock_sagaThe Glossator's Loose Leaf
Quest · Level 52
Every leaf that ever left the Book by accident washes up somewhere in the East Sea eventually, $N, and Scriptorium Rock has spent longer collecting the stray ones than any other terrace on this side of the water. The Binders copied out what they could save and burned what they could not, but one leaf, the Glossator's own draft of the very last page, refused to burn: it simply tore itself free of whatever hand held it and scattered across these terraces one line at a time. The copyists here have spent generations gathering those lines back up, never quite certain they have found them all, or that the last one is not still tucked into some cell nobody has opened since. Compline keeps its vigil for exactly that leaf, waiting for the night someone finally lays every line of it side by side. Search the hollow below the terrace and see whether tonight is that night.

Completion
So the last lines were down here the whole time, waiting on someone patient enough to stop copying and start reading. Whoever pieced it together read the Glossator's own hand closer than the Binders themselves ever dared. There is no more ferry east of here, $N: the ferry islands end at this rock. The way on is the Flyleaf charter, sworn at level 60 on the mainland, and your own boat after that, out past the last leaf and into Cipher Atoll.
