The Glossator's Stone

Quest · Level 33
Uncial Tors was never meant to hold a whole book, $N. It was a single capital letter, the kind a scribe draws large and round at the top of a chapter to tell the reader something important is about to begin, and nothing more. The Binders needed exactly one, used it once, and had no place left for a letter that only ever opened something and never continued it. It drifted here and grew into two domes shaped like that same round capital, with a stone circle on the saddle still holding the shape of a beginning that never got a middle or an end. Someone stood in that circle and read it anyway. Climb to the Stone Circle and see what they left among the stones.

Completion
So even a single letter has something to say, if you stand close enough to it. Whoever left that mark stood on this saddle the way I have stood on it for years: waiting for a chapter that never quite starts. My own notes say the trail runs north from here, $N, to Sepia Needles, where brown sandstone rises like ranks of old ink through a violet haze. Any mainland ferry master will carry you there.
