The Unerased Line

Whiteout, $N, is what a scribe reaches for when a page has to disappear entirely: not a strikethrough, not a crossed word, but every trace of it painted over until nothing remains to correct. This whole island is the Binders' own whiteout, a leaf of the Book they decided should never have existed at all, buried under a blizzard that keeps erasing it fresh every single day so it can never be read again by accident. I have watched the snow take everything I have ever written here. But out past the Rime Vault, on a shelf of ice that never quite melts and never quite drifts over, one single line has survived every whiteout the mountain has thrown at it, signed only as the Glossator. Walk out to that unerased line and read it before the snow finally works out how.
